A downloadable tool for Windows

Please read the following:

Currently this application only supports opening .obj and .tcam (Two Click Annotations Model) files. It also only supports albedo (color) image textures in model materials (no bump, normal, specular, emission, roughness and so on maps). You can open a .obj file, annotate it and save it as a .tcam file. The .tcam file is basically just .obj with embedded annotation information. (Renaming a .tcam file to .obj should result in a obj file that will still be opened by most editors as a regular .obj file. The existence of .tcam is simply to easily distinguish between annotated- and not annotated models.)

To run the application double click "Two Click Annotations" Application file in downloaded folder.

Windows might (almost certainly will) initially prevent launching this app from an unknown publisher. If so click More and allow to run.

Example annotated test turkey and Stabetha models are provided. Press the load button in the application, navigate to and open the .obj or .tcam file with the application.

Click on the loaded model to start annotation. Click again to place. Type on selected annotation to add text. Each annotation has its own "Extra information" that can be typed on the right hand side. Annotations can be moved by dragging the annotation text with the left mouse button. To delete selected annotation (highlighted in blue) press "Delete" key on keyboard.  Rotate around model by holding middle mouse button. Zoom in and out using scroll wheel.

The Annotation Line thickness can be adjusted with the slider on the left. If you wish to make a screen recording of the model the UI can be hidden if desired.  To hide the UI press the "Hide UI" button or the "F2" key on the top of your keyboard. (Will need to press F2 to show the UI once it has been hidden). Enable Auto Rotation to automatically rotate around the model. (The application does not have a built in video recorder. To record a video of the model it is recommended to use Windows's built in screen recorder accessed by pressing "Windows Key" + "G" on your keyboard.

By using this application you agree that its developer is not responsible for its use and cannot be held accountable for any misuse. You agree to use this application entirely at your own risk.

This tool is in development so some bugs are expected. Please let me know if you find a bug or face any other problems. (I am aware that overlapping annotations will often render in the wrong order.)

Thank you.
